THE LEGO GROUP WINS COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT LAWSUIT AGAINST FOUR CHINESE COMPANIES
LEGO Group, a Danish toy production company, won 2nd copyright infringement lawsuit in China against four Chinese companies.
The Guangzhou Yuexiu District Court ruled that the four defendants should immediately cease the production, sale and promotion of the toys and pay about 4.5 million yuan ($650,000) in damages, Lego said in an emailed statement sent Monday.
In 2017 that the LEGO Group had for the 1st time won a copyright infringement claim in China, wherein the group won a landmark case against rival products which it said were almost identical to one of its ranges. The current case is LEGO’s second court victory.
