Rahul, Pandya can be suspended till pending inquiry: BCCI Legal Cell

Putting an end to speculations over the inclusion of Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul in the Indian squad against 1st ODI  the duo has been suspended pending an inquiry into their outrage-evoking comments on women. Announcing their suspension, the Committee of Administrators (CoA) chairman Vinod Rai said, “Both Pandya and Rahul have been suspended pending an inquiry.”

The BCCI has suggested an ombudsman and start an enquiry. Thus, both these players can face more trouble. In fact, both players are set to get suspended as the comments didn’t go down well with the BCCI. 

The BCCI legal Cell has said both player comments on women in Koffee with Karan show don’t fall under the Code of Conduct’ ambit, but CoA can suspend them and conduct inquiry. BCCI legal Cell also recommended appointment of an Ombudsman to investigate the matter. This legal opinion comes after CoA member Diana Edulji sought legal opinion.
