About the Organizer

The National University of Advanced Legal Studies, formerly National Institute for Advanced Legal Studies, is a uni-disciplinary university in Kochi, India for undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate legal education. It is the only National Law University in the state of Kerala.

About the Parliamentary Debate

The NUALS Parliamentary Debate 2020 is the flagship annual debating tournament conducted by the NUALS Debating Society. The dates of this year’s tournament are 28th, 29th February and 1st March 2020.

For this year’s edition, we will be collaborating with the Centre for Consumer Protection Law and Policy (CCPLaP), one of the sixteen Centres for Research and Learning at NUALS.

This year’s tournament shall follow the same format of a 2×2 British Parliamentary Debate with the n+1 rule for adjudicators. Cross teams and independent adjudicators are encouraged to participate. There is a team cap of 40 teams.

Registration shall be done on a first come first serve basis.

Registration Details

The registration fee shall be Rs. 2,200 per person with accommodation and Rs. 1,700 without accommodation. Further details regarding registration dates and Core Adjudicators will be out soon.
