Plea in respect of Chandni Chowk Temple demolition
A public interest litigation was submitted in the Delhi HC court by advocate Alakh alok srivastava asking for a Special Investigation Team to look into the matter of demolition of an old Durga Temple on June 30 in Chandi Chowk New Delhi. the petitioner submitted that the sad and unfortunate act has hurt a lot of people deeply and sent tremors to their religious sentiments. the petitioner has seeked court’s help to establish guidelines to prevent such horrific acts from happening again which destroy the peace and harmony in the country and fosters communal hatred. it is also claimed that no effective measures have been taken against the people who were identified in the CCTV footage and mobile clippings. the matter will be taken up in a few days.
