About the Event

Organized by School of Excellence in Law, The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University in

Association with Subbaraya Aiyar, Padmanabhan and Ramamani (S.A.P.R) Advocates, this Taxation Moot addresses the common perception of taxation as a vast and highly intricate subject requiring specialized expertise. Many law graduates are seen to be reluctant in taking up taxation as their area of practice. Consequently, the practice of taxation is restricted to a limited set of advocates though taxation laws are one of the most extensively applicable laws in India. In order to develop the next generation of taxation practitioners, it is imperative that law students are given a practical legal platform and this Taxation Moot by School of Excellence in Law, Chennai aims to provide the same.

Mode of the Competition

The competition will be conducted in a Hybrid Mode.
The Competition shall consist of the following rounds:
- Preliminary Rounds (Online); and
- Advanced Rounds consisting of:
- a) Quarter-finals (Online)
- b) Semi-finals (Offline)
- c) Finals (Offline)

Registration & Key Dates

The Registration Formalities shall be done in two steps:

Provisional Registration of the participating institutions shall be sent to krramamani15@gmail.com.. An acknowledgement email will be sent by the organising team.

Teams are then required to complete the registration on or before 31.01.2025, 11:59 PM IST by filling out the registration form in the link

Registration Fee

All teams wishing to participate in the Competition shall be required to pay a registration fee of Rs. 1,180 (Thousand hundred and eighty Rupees – inclusive of GST). The Registration fee payable for the Competition must be paid latest by 31.01.2025 11:59 PM IST.
