Aadhaar Cases: SC says linking of Aadhaar with Bank accounts, mobile can’t be made compulsory

The big blow to Central Government, Supreme Court made clear, Linking of Aadhaar with Bank accounts and Mobile connection can’t made compulsory.
Five judges of Constitutional bench struck down the amendment brought in Prevention of Money Laundering Rule which made of Aadhaar with bank account.
Supreme Court also upheld the Section 139AA of Income Tax Act. It is mandatory quoting of Aadhaar/ Enrollment number of Aashaar application, for filing of return of Income and for making an application for PAN.
This has been held by the judgment of Justice A K Sikri, which has concurrence of CJI Misra and Justice A M Khanwilkar.
