About the UMICEF
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), originally known as the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund, was created by the United Nations General Assembly on 11 December 1946, to provide emergency food and healthcare to children and mothers in countries that had been devastated by World War II.
UNICEF works with the Government of India, 17 state governments and civil society organizations in strengthening the child protection system, focusing on enabling the delivery of child protection services at the lowest administrative levels.
Job description
Child Protection Consultant
The position would be responsible for providing technical support to national/state/divisional/district level/sub-district levels (in certain cases) programming in UNICEF supported states in India, with specific deliverables to be achieved for improved child protection outcomes.
The position would be based at Country Office or State or selected district HQs within the states.
New Delhi, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad/Telangana, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Patna, Raipur and Ranchi.
Education: Master’s or Diploma in Law, Social Sciences, Psychology, Criminology, Public Health, Public Policy or relevant field.
At least four years of proven experience in one of listed sectors.
Language: Fluency in English. Knowledge local Indian language as relevant to the state is an asset for national consultants.
Good negotiation and influencing skills supported by excellent communication and presentation skills is desirable.
Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment and to establish harmonious and effective working relationships with governmental, non-governmental and civil society organizations.
